The Phillies destroyed B.J. Upton and the Rays. Their pitching, defense, and offense all around played better ball. That's fine. It happens every now and then, even to the best. But that has to change if the Rays want to play back in Florida in front of their home crowd one more time.
B.J., or Bossman Junior as the Fox announcers love to say, has the chance to really show what Tidewater sports are all about. He got tons of attention (and still will) in Game 3 when he reached first with his speedy legs. He then stole second base, took third, and then scored on a bad throw. Yeah, he was definitely representing Hampton Roads (or the 757) pretty well.
Last night, however, he wasn't too hot. In fact, it was quite ugly. But I'm not knocking the guy--he's a pro and way better than I ever was. The fact is he is in the spotlight and playing in the World Series against the best of the best.
I'm just anxiously awaiting him to really shine on the national stage. He will likely get four or five chances at the plate to put a pitch in the bleachers and drive in runs.
Writing about will do nothing. Just thought I'd drop in my thoughts, as I can't wait to watch him take some more cuts at the plate.
I want to know what you think.
Can Upton show the Phillies who's boss?
